2024 BRAaD Awards

Building Remodeling Arechitecture and Design(BRAaD) Awards competition is open to projects completed by members of Home Builders Association of Portage & Summit Counties. Applications for awards will be limited to two entries, per category, per company. Projects must have been completed between July 1, 2022 and Dec. 31, 2023.  Awards will be given in each category.

ALL entries will receive:

• Rights to advertise as an entrant in the competition

• Electronic competition logo to use on websites and marketing literature

• Project featured on designated BRAaD Landing Page for online viewing by the public

WINNERS will receive additional benefits:

• Plaque featuring project

• Inclusion in HBA marketing campaign to include press releases, digital campaign and social media

• Recognition at the HBA BRAaD Awards Celebration on March 21, 2024 at Univeristy of Akron InfoCison Stadium.

 

COST: $280 non-refundable fee per entry

• Contact Name, Phone and Email

• Logo in multiple formats, jpg, pdf, ai, eps. 

• Co-entrants ($75/entrant), if applicable - Co-entrants name will appear on the award and announced at the Awards Celebration on March 21.

Required Project Information: 

• General Location including County

• Style of the Project

• 2-3 Sentence Description 

• Square Footage

• Budget/Cost

• Product Highlights (Identify 2-3 products included in the project that create a WOW factor for the consumer) 

• Special Features (Optional)

• Inspiration for the Project & Design

• Project Photos - At least one and a maximum of EIGHT project photos.  Max 10 GB for all photos. “Before” photos are encouraged for remodeling projects. 

 

 All entries are due on or before February 15, 2024.  Entry information and photos can be added and updated until February 22, 2024.

 

Judging Scoring

Judges are industry experts not otherwise associated with this competition.  The judging panel will account for 100% of the scoring for entries. Judges will award points based on:

• Design • Execution • Quality • Originality / Creativity • Usability

Judges will not be required to meet in order to judge entries.

 

Judging Panel

The judges are selected by the HBA BRAaD Awards Team and will consist of a minimum of 3 judges per entry.  All judges will be industry experts otherwise not associated with the competition. In the event of a tie among entries, the judges will discuss the entries to determine the winner.   The judges' decision will be final and no appeal will be allowed. Judging will be completed on or before March 10, 2024. Results will be given to the HBA CEO Lori Howerton, for inclusion in advertising, event materials and ordering of plaques.

 

Awards

Awards will be presented at the BRAaD Awards Celebration on March 21, 2024 at University of Akron InfoCision Stadium. If homeowners, other companies and/or designers contributed to the project and would like to receive an award, duplicate plaques may be purchased at an additional cost of $75. Additional contributors will be mentioned at the awards ceremony, on the award plaque, and in advertisements.

 

Failure to comply fully with contest rules may result in disqualification. Entry fee is non-refundable.
